The way to heat the engine

auto heatingTHE WAY TO HEAT THE ENGINE
Heating devices are mounted in the chamber of the power unit. They can be enabled, using a 24-hour timer, from a remote-controlled radio (remote control with range 600 m), or even from a mobile phone. Starting it takes fuel and ignites it with an incandescent pin. The heat generated through the exchanger is transferred to the cooling system, by heating the engine body, and further to the car heater. From here it is forced through ventilation ducts into the interior of the vehicle. At -10°C and heating power from 4 do 5 kW need close 20 minutes, so that the coolant heats up to a temperature a little lower than the one opening the thermostat (close to 70°C). Then the device switches to maintaining the obtained effect. Heating of this type has a built-in modern temperature control system, which allows you to calculate the temperature of the heated air and regulate it, detection of situations threatening overheating of the unit and automatic reduction of heating power, but also detection of too high air flow resistance.

In some vehicles, np. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Galaxy, VW Sharan, pre-installed heaters, supporting modern diesels in maintaining the right operating temperature at low loads. They don't work, when the engine is not running, and outside there is a low temperature. However, you can upgrade the existing heater to the form of an independent auxiliary heater, the main components of which are a thermostat and a check valve. A small compact heating unit also fits in the unit compartment includes an integrated water pump and fuel pump (diesel version).

It is not without reason that parking heaters are recommended by associations of carriers in long-distance transport. Increasingly, however, users of passenger cars decide to install it. They provide the driver with the thermal comfort needed in a mobile workplace. In winter, the device heats the car to pleasant temperatures, and in the summer cools a vehicle parked in the sun. The surcharge for such a pleasure for a new limousine is at the level of 3 thousand. zloty (np. Parkheat in Saaba 9-3 SportSedan ARC with diesel), as well as the installation for an already used car. Assembly takes nearly eight hours. Such an investment also improves driving safety. Snow- and frost-free windows guarantee full visibility, and the comfortable temperature in the interior allows the driver to concentrate on driving in difficult road conditions.
