Since the Golf was first introduced to the public in a year 1974, co 6 – 9 years, a new generation of models of this car has been created. So far produced 17,6 one million units of the first three generations. Each new model takes into account changing needs and reflects the progress of civilization.
The fourth generation of Volkswagen Golf cars
The production of the fourth generation of this car started in September 1997 in the combi-limousine version 3- and 5-door, which in September 1998 supplemented with a 4-door Bora sedan. In May 1999 both models are also offered as a station wagon (Variant). Basic equipment can be enriched with additional packages, named Comfortline, Highline i Trendline (offered from 1999 year). A fully galvanized body was used, corrosion resistant. The perforation guarantee is 12 years. Driving comfort has been increased, equipment was enriched and passive safety improved. Large monolithic sheet metal elements and modern welding technologies contributed to a significant increase in the stiffness of the body. As a result, stability and driving comfort have improved. Unpleasant creaking and clicking noises, usually found on previous generations of cars, it was almost completely eliminated.
Significant body parts, formerly consisting of multiple parts, made as one piece. Laser welding on the assembly line, instead of spot welding, ensured a very strong connection of the individual elements. Accuracy in the production of the body and during assembly made it possible to minimize any kind of leakage. Even after tens of thousands of kilometers, the body remains almost as stable, as on the first day of use.
