Checking the radiator fan
The radiator rests on rubber supports and can be removed upwards. An electric fan is located on the rear wall of the radiator to support the cooling effect when stationary and when driving slowly. The fan operation is controlled by a thermal switch screwed into the radiator. The first stage of the fan operation is turned on at the temperature of 86…90″C, shutdown at 85, .. 89 ° C.
■ If the fan does not turn on by itself, remove the black wire and connect its end to ground. The rotation of the electric motor indicates the efficiency of the fan.
■ If the fan still does not spin, check the voltage on the other pin of the electric motor with a voltmeter. The presence of voltage indicates that the fan motor must be replaced.
■ When the fan motor and its power supply are operational, the disadvantages are to be found in the heat switch in the radiator. Replace the switch if necessary, fill the cooling system and bleed it. Run the engine warm and check that the two stages are turned on. If the first stage does not turn on, means, that the resistor in the cable connecting the heat switch with the fan is damaged (black wire).
