The exhaust system consists of an exhaust manifold, silencers and connecting pipes. Its task is to reduce the combustion noise to the value required by the standards and to create a specific pressure of flue gas accumulation. This pressure is necessary for the operation of the internal combustion engine.
Therefore, the exhaust system must be leakproof over its entire length. Tips for repairing the exhaust system
■ The system is checked for leaks while idling, when the engine has reached warm-up temperature.
■ Close the exhaust pipe outlet with a rag, making, that it will be easier to find possible leaks.
■ Leaky pipe connections can be sealed with “Fire-Gum”. Corroded silencers are to be replaced with original ones.
■ During these works, bands and elastic suspension elements should be replaced.
■ We recommend that you use only original exhaust system parts, since the placeholders are not generally wholesome.
■ Be careful when refitting the exhaust system components, that they do not touch anywhere and that they do not damage any parts, overheating them.
