Rear wheel bearing replacement – Fiat Uno
The replacement of the rear wheel bearing consists in the replacement of the complete hub.
■ Raise the rear of the car and remove the wheel.
■ Remove the brake drum or disc.
■ Remove the cup from the hub.
■ Undo the hub spigot nut and unscrew it.
■ Pull off the hub with bearing, using the tool 1847015000.
■ Press out the inner race of the bearing, if any, on the journal.
■ Press on the pin (or knock it in with a soft mallet) a new hub with a well-pressed edge holding the bearing. Apply pressure only to the inner ring of the bearing.
■ Screw in a new hub journal nut and tighten it to torque 216 N • m. The bearing is not adjustable.
■ Tighten the nut securely.
■ Fill the cup in 3/4 bearing grease and press into the hub.
■ Install the brake drum or disc.
■ Fit the rear wheel and check it, that there is no play and that it turns slightly.
