Changing the brake fluid
The brake fluid is hygroscopic, which means that as it ages, its water content increases. which lowers the boiling point of the liquid. Thus, air bubbles can form in the fluid during heavy braking, which will significantly reduce the braking efficiency. Therefore it is required. that the brake fluid is replaced every 2 patch.
In order to drain the liquid, open the air vents one by one and pump the liquid out with the pedal into a vessel. In the same way, you can flush the system with alcohol or fresh fluid. Then close the vents and fill the system.
After changing the fluid, it is necessary to bleed air from the system. You must also do this (for one of the circuits) each time at least one brake hose is disconnected.
■ Fill the fluid reservoir on the pump up to the upper mark. During the entire bleeding operation, watch the fluid level and top up if necessary.
■ Raise the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on this. which circuit is to be vented. Remove the wheels. If the entire system is to be vented, then you have to remove all the wheels at once.
■ Clean the breather at the right-hand rear wheel and put a hose approx 50 cm and a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the vent.
■ Place the other end of the cord into a transparent vessel, partially filled with fresh fluid. The vessel should always be below the pump reservoir
■ Open the air vent by half a turn.
■ With the help of another person, depress the brake pedal several times and release it slowly. Repeat the pumping operation for as long, until the liquid that leaks into the vessel is free of air bubbles.
■ Keep the pedal depressed.
■ Close the air vent and remove the hose.
Perform the same operation on the left rear wheel, right front and left front wheels. Fluid pumped out of the system must not be reused. If the system is to be vented after the pump has been repaired, it is advisable to blow out the brake lines to drain completely, filling the tank and only then venting, this operation should start from the left front wheel (the shortest stretch). This removes the air from the pump as quickly as possible. When handling the fluid, remember about its aggressive effect on car paint.
