The Englishman's vehicle built in the eighteenth century deserves a mention, John Bevers. It was a small four-wheeled vehicle, in which you sat comfortably, steering the front wheels with a "funnel"”; while the servant, standing behind the passenger compartment, trampled on the pedals of the crank mechanism, connected by a gearbox with rear wheels. Given, that Bevers' vehicle weighed more than half a ton with two people, and rolling bearings were not yet known at that time, the servant's work did not have to be one of the lightest.
