Fiat Doblo got younger. The previous model emphasized its utility character even with its appearance, a newer version kind of camouflages this image.

However, the changes are not too deep. The most striking shape is the new shape of the front part of the car. In place of the clunky radiator grille resembling those from trucks and small split headlights, there are a more subtle grille and larger lights. The bumper also looks different. Few, but this cosmetics changed the face of the vehicle quite thoroughly. Doblo looks fresh again. The body variant has arrived – Cargo vans available in Maxi version with longer wheelbase 38 cm. The load capacity of delivery variants has increased – do 730 kg as standard i 850 kg in the version with increased load capacity. However, the car was not created only for the transport of goods. Its main recipients are small businesses, in which one car is usually used to transport and goods, and employees, and becomes a family vehicle at weekends.
Each company will manage to match the appropriate drive unit – you can choose between two gasoline (including the engine 1.6 for natural gas) and four diesels, m.in. 85-on horseback 1.3 and a 120-horsepower version of the unit 1.9 – both with variable geometry turbochargers and a diesel particulate filter. All of them meet the Euro IV exhaust gas purity standard.
The measure resisted change. An upright driver sits high – a bit like on a chair. After a while it turns out, that this position is quite comfortable, the more that the possibilities of adjusting the seat and steering wheel are quite large. The ergonomics of the interior may appeal – The elevated gear lever is always close at hand, large buttons and knobs grouped on the central console are handy to use, there are also compartments. The instrument panel looks more solid than the Punto II.
The length of the car with the standard wheelbase is 425 cm – this is equivalent to an average compact car. The height is quite noticeable – 181 cm requires some caution when entering underground parking lots. Such proportions, combined with the box-shaped body shape, however, they allow for a spacious interior. The passenger version can successfully compete with minivans, there is enough space for even five passengers. There is also a lot of space for packages – with all seats in the normal position, the volume of the luggage compartment measured to the level of the shelf is 7501. With the rear row of seats folded (it is not a complicated activity) a cargo hold with a capacity is created 3 m3. In addition, it is easily accessible – through the raised rear (or opening sideways like in Cargo) and sliding doors on both sides of the body.
The suspension system in Doblo has been preserved – MacPherson struts at the front, a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear. This arrangement works well in a vehicle intended for work. Despite its simple construction, the vehicle behaves correctly, you can also count, that it will be resistant to overload. You can also get a little pleasure from driving a Doblo, in addition, driving comfort remains at a satisfactory level.
Diesel engines are best suited to the character of the model. The optimal solution is turbo-diesel 1.9 105 KM. It allows, even at full load, to stay efficiently in the stream of vehicles, and being empty, it will amaze you when you sprint from under the lights. At the same time, it is well soundproofed and uses fuel economically. The actual average consumption is 6,5-7,5 l / 100 km. The changes were good for Doblo. It has gained a nice appearance, and has not lost any practicality, thanks to which he won the recognition of customers.
